Hello Coaches,
Competition season is finally here!!!! We are so excited that you have chosen to compete in our 5th annual Salt Lake Valley Classic Competition. We want this to be a competition that will run smoothly and a competition where you can get excellent feedback to help prepare for Region and State. We know how hard all you coaches and girls work so we will work our hardest to make sure this is a fun, exciting and rewarding experience for all those involved. Here is some important information regarding our Competition:
1. Solos......will be Friday night Jan. 4th at Juan Diego auditorium from 5pm-8pm. Please let your soloist know to come between 4-5:00pm to check in. Dancers and Spectators will enter through the doors on the West side of the school. There is a large parking area on the west side. The cost to the public is $5.00 for everyone and children 4 and under are free. Soloist award will be according to classification and category. The overall winner will be performing Saturday night right before awards are given to the teams.
2. Team Competition.....will be Saturday Jan. 5th at Juan Diego. The competition will begin at 8:00am with an approx end time around 6pm. Teams can start checking in at 6am. They can check music at this time as well as space your routines on the floor. Floor time will be first come first serve. We will have a signup sheet when you arrive. Each team will get 5 mins on the floor. Our floor judges will be there at 6:30 – 7:00am to check props, shoes and etc... This year we have a practice gym that you will all be able to use. We will send out the times for the practice floor as well as the times for your teams as soon as we get closer to the competition. On Saturday all teams must enter on the south side of the school. Your buses can park there too. Remember there is NO food or Drinks allowed. We will have concessions available to your girls. You can bring in water bottles, but please no energy drinks, sport drinks or anything of its sort. We will not allow food in the dressing rooms. 3A and 4A will be facing south, while 1A, 2A and 5A will face north.
3. Coaches........we will be providing an excellent breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks to all you wonderful coaches. Please take advantage of our hospitably room that will be available to you all day.
4. Public Entry.......to our competition will be at 7:30am. Please let your parents know that the doors will be locked until 7:30am and they won’t be able to come in any earlier. The public will enter on the West side of the school. Parking is available on the west side of the school. Public entry cost is $10.00 for adults $8.00 for students and children, any children under the age of 4 are free. There is ABSOLUTELY no saving seats. Blankets will not be allowed to use to save spots only to sit on :)
5. Dressing rooms......will be assigned to each team that is competing. These rooms MUST be kept CLEAN!!!! Please respect and do not touch or tamper with any equipment or supplies that are in the room. The rooms need to be left exactly the way they were when you first arrived. No food will be allowed in any dressing rooms. You will be fined if there is any damage or loss to the room. There will be a check off list to check out of your rooms. You can have a janitor or one of the Juan Diego drill team girls check you off. You must turn in these papers to us to receive your score sheets.
6. Team Lunches......will be served to your girls in the lunch room, which is west of the gymnasium. If you did not order team lunches there are concessions available. There are also numerous places to go out to eat, just remember you won’t be able to bring outside food into the school.
7. Props.....if any of you have really large props that cannot fit through the door please email us so we can make some arrangements that will help make it run smoothly for you the morning of.
8. Coaches meeting will be at 7:30am. Please make sure to have one coach attend from each school. We will go over all the information for that day as well as any scratches, plus we will have a yummy breakfast you will want to be there for :)
9. Vendors......we have quite a few vendors that will be there that are selling some great stuff.
